Symptoms to watch for
- Immediate pain and swelling after an injury
- Inability to bear weight or use the limb
- Visible deformity or bruising
- Tenderness directly over the bone
- A popping sound at the moment of injury
Come to the ER immediately if
- Obvious deformity or bone through skin
- Inability to move or bear weight
- Numbness, tingling or a cold limb
- Severe swelling that keeps increasing
How we treat sprains & fractures
Digital X-ray imaging, fracture reduction where needed, splinting or casting, pain management, crutches or a boot, and direct referral to an orthopedic specialist.
