Abdominal pain covers everything from a stomach bug to appendicitis, gallstones or an obstruction. Guessing at home is risky. With CT, ultrasound and a full lab in the building, we can identify what is actually causing the pain during your visit.
Symptoms to watch for
- Sharp or worsening stomach pain
- Pain in the lower right or upper right abdomen
- Persistent vomiting
- Fever with abdominal pain
- Bloating, tenderness or inability to keep fluids down
Come to the ER immediately if
- Pain that is severe, sudden or getting worse
- Abdominal pain with fever or vomiting
- A rigid or extremely tender abdomen
- Blood in vomit or stool
How we treat abdominal pain
Physician evaluation, abdominal CT or ultrasound, complete blood work, IV fluids and pain control, and surgical coordination when a condition such as appendicitis is identified.
