A high or stubborn fever deserves a real answer, not a guess. We run rapid testing for influenza, RSV, strep and COVID-19 on site, along with a full respiratory panel covering 18 viruses and 4 bacteria, so treatment starts the same visit.
Symptoms to watch for
- Fever above 103°F, or any fever in an infant
- Body aches and chills
- Sore throat and cough
- Fatigue and headache
- Fever lasting more than three days
Come to the ER immediately if
- Fever in an infant under three months
- Fever with difficulty breathing or confusion
- Fever that will not come down with medication
- Dehydration from an inability to keep fluids down
How we treat flu & fever
Rapid diagnostic testing, fever reduction, IV fluids for dehydration, antivirals or antibiotics where indicated, and breathing support if your oxygen levels are low.
