Symptoms to watch for
- Throbbing or one-sided head pain
- Nausea and vomiting
- Light and sound sensitivity
- Visual aura or blurred vision
- Neck stiffness
Come to the ER immediately if
- A sudden, severe headache that peaks in seconds
- Headache with fever, stiff neck or confusion
- Headache after a head injury
- Weakness, numbness or vision loss
